Ready for the Role of Trustee

Catherine’s experience and passion are exactly what Eanes needs as it faces new challenges due to the shortfall in funding from the state legislature.

Her expertise aligns directly with the Texas Associations of School Boards (TASB) top priorities of a Trustee:

  • As Executive VP and Chief Financial & Risk Officer at CapMetro, Catherine’s expertise in setting strategic directions and priorities for large public and private entities is unmatched.

Financial planning and budgeting experience enables her to set and monitor educational goals that are both ambitious and financially viable. A Six Sigma Black Belt, she has a proven track record of using data-driven approaches to solve problems and improve processes.

  • Her leadership has involved creating, applying, and evaluating policies affecting much of Travis County, preparing her to help the board adopt and assess educational policies to meet community needs.

Financial expertise will ensure that policies are effective, cost-efficient and sustainable over the long term.

  • A strong supporter of Dr. Jeff Arnett, Catherine brings valuable process experience from numerous executive searches if required.

She manages multiple departments and is key in hiring and assessing senior staff, skills that are essential for evaluating the superintendent's success in achieving the board's vision.

  • Extensive expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and managing resources efficiently are necessary for adopting a budget and setting a tax rate. This is essential to setting and managing a multi-million dollar budget.

Work experience gives insight to the financial constraints and the need for strategic planning to build sustainable financial decisions that align with educational goals and community expectations.

  • The Board should encourage the spectrum of voices and perspectives in our community to respectfully and successfully work toward common solutions. She is a parent of young children in the district and understands the community's concerns and aspirations, enhancing her ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Her professional role in public engagement requires communicating complex financial and operational information in an understandable way to the community at large.
