About Catherine

“Eanes needs a leader who has the proven ability to tackle the challenges the district faces, and Catherine Walker is that leader.” - Jennifer Champagne

As a proud mother of three vibrant children, two at Bridge Point and one at Hill Country, Catherine's commitment to our schools runs deep. She knows firsthand the joys and challenges of raising children within our district, especially those with special learning needs, and she champions the cause of inclusion for all families and their children.

Understanding the intricate balance of fiscal responsibility and educational excellence, Catherine recognizes the financial constraints that recapture puts on our district. She advocates for strategic long-term planning, both for operating and capital expenses, ensuring that every dollar invested in our schools yields maximum benefit for our students. Moreover, Catherine firmly believes in the invaluable role played by the Eanes Education Foundation in providing essential funding for our dedicated teaching staff.

Catherine is a staunch advocate for bilingual education, passionately supporting the Spanish Immersion program that attracted her family to Eanes nearly six years ago. With firsthand experience of its strengths and weaknesses, Catherine is uniquely positioned to leverage her professional expertise to steer the program towards greater success.

Drawing from her adeptness in managing unforeseen costs, Catherine stands ready to assist the board in establishing, funding, and sustaining critical initiatives like the new Police Department and campus safety. Her collaborative approach, coupled with a keen eye for detail, ensures that decisions—whether big or small—are made with the utmost care and consideration for the future of our district.

Beyond her dedication to educational excellence, Catherine's life is a whirlwind of activity, from cheering on her children at wrestling matches and soccer games to fostering their creative talents through music lessons and dance classes. Her children’s commitment to Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and Brownies, which is something the family does together, helps foster a servant leadership mindset at an early age.  This bustling schedule exemplifies the vibrant energy that fuels her commitment to our community, where every moment is an opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive.

Join Catherine on this journey of elevation and empowerment, together shaping a future where every student in the Eanes Innovative School District has the opportunity to aim higher.
